Sony Ericsson and Vodafone launch exclusively in Spain’s new XPERIA X2. The terminal is run by Windows Mobile 6.5, offers extensive connectivity options and highlight in its facet of new XPERIA X2. The brand focuses on the model to the professional market and for the time, Vodafone will offer it only to corporate clients and freelancers.
The new Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 is a smart phone with 3.2-inch touchscreen and a native resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. It measures 110 x 54 x 16 mm and weighs 115 grams. A great spec sheet, it is worth noting its 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and image stabilizer and TV output. Available in black and silver.
The phone includes 110 Mbytes of internal memory, expandable up to 16 Gbytes through the slot for microSD or microSDHC cards (the kit includes a 4-Gbyte microSD signed by SanDisk).
The operating system chosen is the latest edition of Windows Mobile, though under a layer of makeup design with 3D interface based on the system of panels that we saw in its predecessor. This time 14 panels come pre-loaded, but we have at our disposal 16 more than cover all services from Google, Skype, news channels or Windows Live, among others. The phone includes an assortment of software that includes some 3D games and office applications. The company has made available an SDK that developers will create new items for the XPERIA X2.
In point of connectivity are WiFi and Bluetooth A2DP support. Incorporates the Internet Explorer browser and messaging application is compatible with Microsoft’s Exchange (very popular in corporate environment). Nor need the almost indispensable A-GPS works with Google Maps but we may also use another navigation software.
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 will be available for business customers from 49 euros with portability, coupled with term contract of 18 months with the voice plan “All in One” and the Royal Mail service Training.
